Expecting the Unexpected: Cold and Batteries

Posted by admin January 7, 2016

Temperatures below freezing can zap the remaining life out of your battery in a snap. It's a good idea to have your local parts store test the strength of your battery for a cold start. Keeping a set of jumper cables in your vehicle could come in handy when you are away from home. Investing in a charger or a jump starter, to keep at home or in your vehicle, is an easy way to insure a start without using another vehicle's battery. Make sure the terminals fit tightly on the posts and are free of any corrosion. Last, remember to remove any device charging in the vehicle, such as a cell phone or tablet, that could drain the battery.
